Congratulations
"JTK" Wins Plate
Final - "Kinetic FIRS" place 6th in Cup
pool
The event is the largest annual event in Asia. The tourney had a
total of 15 Men's and 3 Women's teams including Korea, Taiwan, Philippines,
Hong Kong, and Australia. As the tournament is "open age"
this was a great opportunity for U18 players to "play up"
and many teams including Team JTK and Kinetic FIRS injected youth
talent in their lines. JTK - "Jedi Tiger Knights" sent
a mixed team of Singaporean adults, juniors and 5 JTK Canadian youth
players (details below) and Kinetic FIRS entered a team made up
predominately of Kinetic Knight players and also included some youth
Singaporean guns!
Three pools, three days 50 games is what it took to determine
the winners. The pools were evenly matched (see below)
which made for some very competitive and mostly low scoring games.
Also in each pool there was a mix of playing style which made it
interesting and challenging for the teams. For example, Team MAX
from Taiwan play an extremely hard and fast game which tested the
experience and stamina of opposing teams, where as Team Digi (Australia)
played a more physical but strategic game which took them all the
way to become Cup winners taking over from Japan in 2002 and Hong
Kong in 2001. more details are available at the official tournament

Jedi Tiger Knights, AIHS and sponsors offer
exchange scholarships to Canadian players, an old approach applied
to inline hockey development.
Inline Hockey is a sport that Singaporean's can do well
at and AIHS together with Sportsline and Sponsors decided on a progressive
development program which includes an express stream to make a team
from Singapore that can compete at international level within 3 years,
the team is Jedi Tiger Knights.
To achieve this, JTK have established a scholarship exchange program
with Canada Inline registered players. The scholarship is offered
to JTK players to help them with their studies. In addition our sponsors
will provide expenses paid participation into international tournaments
and training abroad
The program began in July 2003 and JTK have selected a Canadian Coach
and several Canadian players to join the team for the World Inline
Cup Canada and the YMCA Hong Kong Cup, November 2003.
JTK competed and won 3 medals in the World Inline Cup (Canada) earlier
this year with an Under 12 and and Under 14 team and won the Plate
Final in the YMCA Hong Kong Inline Hockey tournament nov 26-30 Hong
Kong. Within the JTK Inline Hockey Club there are several Canadian
players who have accepted to play for JTK in the World Cup, the YMCA
Hong Kong Cup and the 2004 World Inline Cup in Canada. "the
exchange is a great way for the Singaporean players to express their
improvement and gain valuable social skills too. ". says Barry
Hanson- AIHS Founder.
